The increase in sales came ahead of the call for all practicing electricians to act in accordance with the changes outlined in the first amendment to the 17th edition, designated BS7671:2008 (2011), on 1st January 2012.

The changes result from the improvement of equipment that could cause problems due to overvoltage in systems.
